If you're missing one tooth or multiple teeth, it can be difficult to complete everyday tasks such as eating and talking. At Ammons Dental By Design, we take great pride in providing a variety of restorative treatments to not only improve your oral health but also help you enjoy a beautiful, attractive smile once more. Our highly-qualified team will work hard to create an individualized treatment plan that helps you reach your goals.
Today, we want to talk about one of our office’s most common tooth replacement methods: dental implants and dentures. Dental implants and dentures are used to restore the appearance, health, and functionality of your smile. With these custom restorative options we'll have you looking and feeling as good as new.
Dental implants are a more permanent solution for missing teeth. A dental implant consists of a titanium post embedded in the jawbone with a tooth restoration (crown or bridge) attached on top. Our dentists custom-create each tooth to match your other teeth. Once your dental implant procedure is complete, you can eat whatever you want and treat your implant just as you would a normal tooth. Because implants are created to match your natural teeth, odds are that no one will be able to tell you have an implant except for you!
Unlike dental implants, traditional dentures do not permanently stay in your mouth. They are an arch of false, but natural-looking teeth that are attached to a base that mimics the appearance of gums. Dentures are held in place with a professional-strength adhesive, and need to be taken out for cleaning, maintenance, and usually while you sleep. Thanks to advancements in dentistry, today’s dentures are more comfortable than ever before and are the right option for many of our patients.
If you're missing teeth, don’t waste any more time hiding your smile. Both dental implants and dentures are great options for restoring your smile. Contact our office to schedule your restorative consultation today!
