Essentially what that means is that CEREC is an in-office system used for the designing and manufacturing of dental restorations. With traditional dental crowns, it can sometimes take weeks between appointments to get your custom crown since you have to wait for the lab to make and send back your crown. With CEREC, we will first take digital images of your mouth, which are then used to create a model of your dental crown. Next, the CEREC milling machine uses that model to produce the crown, right then and there. Then, we affix the crown over your tooth and make any necessary adjustments for a perfect fit on the spot. And that’s it! In just a couple of hours, you can have your smile restored with a natural-looking, well-fitting, permanent dental crown.
